Grief Series

“grieve. so that you can be free to feel something else. – Nayyirah Waheed

I consider grief to be the truest emotion. My whole life, it has been my teacher and guide, my companion in the darkest and loneliest moments, a friend that reminds me of what I feel and what is so important that it makes life worth the pain of being.

Most of my art, when it comes pouring out of me, comes with words. My grief doesn’t. It speaks in color, in the feeling of raindrops on a windowpane merging and falling, in the splatter when they fall.

This art reaches out to you through time and space, looking for a kindred spirit. Do you feel what I feel? Can you hold all this beauty too, knowing you will lose it? Are you brave enough to love it anyway, with audacity?
